The shooting ground of Los Collados de San Miguel: the tradition of red-legged partridge walked-up, in the heart of La Mancha.
La Calerilla is one of the estate’s shoots, together with La Porrosa, in the natural landscape of Campos de Montiel, where the red-legged partridge (Alectoris rufa) finds the right habitat among scrub, olive groves and cereal fields.
From October to February we enjoy shooting days in country that is perfect for keeping the partridge tradition alive in its different forms, with particular care for walked-up shooting.
Our estates La Calerilla and La Porrosa are the right stage for those who want authenticity, respect for the land and birds whose flight is striking for its height and verticality.
Walked-up shooting lets you cover the ground at an unhurried pace, with pointing dogs, in the rhythm of the La Mancha countryside. A way of understanding the sport that is bound to the landscape, to company and to knowledge of the ground.
If you wish to book a shooting day, we recommend getting in touch as early as you can: season dates are in high demand. We can combine the day with bungalow lodging and our traditional cooking.
After the day in the field, the estate welcomes the guns with the comfort of its rooms: dining with dishes such as partridge salad in escabeche, migas manchegas and produce of the land.
The surroundings are rich in native fauna and flora. A visit to La Calerilla is not only about the shoot: it is a living landscape where rural tourism, farming and the shooting culture of Castilla-La Mancha sit side by side.
